Well using the logic "i hate group x because group y doesn't have rights either" is stupid in the first place. What if gay people felt the same way about immigrants? We need to help everyone not just our own group.
Marriage isn't just about love. Married couples have like 127 rights that unmarried couples don't have like tax breaks, being able to see their spouse if they're in the hospital, being able to adopt their partners kids, and a shit ton of other rights.
