L.A. and NYC are so different...polar opposites. I really, truly love New York. It's the ultimate urban experience. I think L.A. is an easier place to live. Personally, I'd only consider living in Manhattan, the outer boroughs don't do anything for me, although I'd consider an exception for Brooklyn Heights. Love the view. But it really just depends what YOU enjoy doing and prefer.

LA: beach, sunny weather, glamour, widespread not compact like NY. More parking. Lower sales tax. lots of jobs, Better for cars. Lots of places to go and see. Hollywood. Women with tan not like NY with pale women.

NY: best for music. good rail line systems. Everything is closer. Snow if you are into winter. Good pier and also good seafood since it closer to maine.

The biggest factor how much can you afford. Living expense is higher in NY than LA.

I go to school in NYC but my home is in LA.

LA is a better place to live because it is more laid back and the weather is better. Not to mention the most beautiful women in the world. Yet because it's so spread out it's a shitty place to just 'visit' because there really isn't time to drive to every location in a week or two.

NYC on the other hand is an awesome place to go to school and the people have more style, not to mention more 'hangout' spots that are easily accesible due to the amazing public transportation (compared to LA). Yet the weather is shit most of the time, making NYC a better place to 'visit' for a week or two.

All being said, I'm biased towards LA because I'm from there, but NYC is a great city. NYC is a little bit fast paced for me, so coming back to LA for the summer has been great and I can't deny how much I love this city: the women, cars, areas, people, weather, pace. It's all perfect for me.

Different strokes for different folks. I really think it comes down to how laid back you like to be.

This thread pops up every 6 months or year I swear lol. At the end of the day I don't see how people compare NY to LA or NY to any state for that matter. Besides the weather what does LA have ? You want LA in NY go to the Hamptons or L.I in the summer.. Everytime a thread like this pops up people compare girls. Beautiful females are everywhere, and until they come up with some kind of scientific proof that one state has better girls than the other I don't want to hear it. We have hot chicks and so does Idaho...

When I went to LA you couldn't even scratch your ass without getting in a car first... Everything is so compact in NYC.. Honestly there is nothing LA has that NYC does not.

The op is mainly talking about the city of new york not the state. City wise New York is compact together, it is the same as san francisco.
