Rape is rape. No matter how your try and spin it, the teachers are abusing their position of authority over children that they have been entrusted with by the public and are punished accordingly. The courts still make rulings on a case-by-case basis and consider the circumstances of each independently, but if you actually think they are going to reduce a sentence based solely on gender of the offender then you are sorely mistaken.

The only argument anyone has for consensual sex between a minor and adult is that a child is too young to make that decision... Rape is different from consensual sex... Minor or not rape is a totally different thing. As long as no one was coerced into any sexual acts it isn't rape...

The kids on there that were like 14 obviously need to be protected, but the dudes that were 16-17 were just tryin to get it in so who gives a fuck. Age of consent shouldnt be decided by the states, it should be 16 throughout the US but whatever. You're not supposed to think outside of the box with the Law. The whole point of the Law is that (ideally) it's objective. You really think creative sentencing is a laudable idea? "Yeah, she murdered five people but I mean, she is a woman who probably has emotional problems and shit so hey she's free to go!"

You are very misguided not to believe there are massive numbers of girls out there who would/do consent to these things. But more importantly: no, you can't 'guarantee' anything. Consent is obviously something to be determined on a case to case basis. Are we just supposed to assume that every male teacher case is rape while every female teacher had consent? Sure, let's just change the Law based on another poorly grounded sexual assumption!

Stop making up your own definitions, they have no basis in the court of law. The courts find that a [B]minor cannot provide legal consent to a sexual act with an adult[/B]. End of story. If you're going to argue semantics as to if it's actually called "rape", which I suppose depends on where you're from, the principal still applies.
