Finally got my hands on Pliny, and I must say I wasnt all that impressed. I think its good, but it is definitely overrated imo. I like firestone walker alot more... all personal opinion.

is drinking out of wide mouth cup ideal way?
i see the same kind of cups on this thread n more from youtube beer review vids.
just wondering... thx :D

i think it depends on the style. I believe stronger beers should be drank in glass with narrower mouths.

Whoever said La fin du monde was their current favorite is onto something. It's definitely awesome. Just finished my pack of Lagunitas IPA, a very good IPA to say the least

^ Never had any of it except the Triple Karmeliet which was good. If that watermelon wheat is anything like 21st Amendments Hell or High Watermelon it should be delicious

If you dont like 60 min you should stay away from most IPAs unless they're super well balanced. Try another style of beer. Hoppy/bitter isn't something everyone loves.

lol @ that comment about Blue Moon, somewhat true IMO but I ain't gonna hate.

Anyways, I just copped these today. I have tried all but the Three Philosophers. I've heard a lot of good things about it, however Sonny told me that the cherry flavor threw him off and he wasn't that fond of it. I hope it's not overly sweet because I'm not that fond of beers like that. I tried beer that had passion fruit in it and it gave me a horrible stomach ache as well as diarrhea.

Was slightly joking/being a dick. I drink Blue Moon at family gatherings and shit cuz it's better than Bud Lite and Coors but I don't go out my way to purchase it. As for recommendations, this thread is full of them. Some beers may be an acquired taste. You just gotta try different beer styles like IPA's, stouts, etc. When I was 18 I hated dark beers, now it's usually what I drink, although with the hot ass weather I can't drink dark shit all the time, gotta go for some lighter stuff.

agreed, i was the same way at 18 nasty. once you turn 21 it'll be easier to check out various beers.

asking your dad if he wants to kick back with a 12 or 6 of something nice from bevmo or another local liquor store might be a good way to start though. that's how i started getting into different brews.

i went to an Albertsons in huntington beach and i was like wha?? it was stocked with craft and specialty brews from lagunitas to ballast point to la fin du monde and delirium tremens. why cant all stores be like this

To be honest craft brewing has always been on the rise in popularity and it's becoming even more popular in the recent years. Even 7-11 is catching on. The one near me stocks plenty of Sierra Nevada, some Stone, and a few others.

When I was your age and I didn't like dark beers but I wanted to expand my horizon instead of always ordering generic beers, I tried Hefeweizen. It's a wheat beer and pretty good. Try some of that, you'll probably like it

I'm 18 and I started trying different beers just this year. When I was like 15 and shit I drank nothing but Budweiser, bud light and shit after a while I got tired of the same taste. Heineken was always my favorite but then I started drinking Dos Equis, if you can get your hands on some St. Pauli Girl it's pretty good too.
