You only don't want it to pass because you're in the growing industry and it'd hurt you directly. The only people who voted No on Prop 19 are old rich white religious Conservatives and drug dealers and/or growers. How does it feel to be a selfish prick?

don't forget to add the DEA, Private Prisons who thrive of Marijuana arrests, pharmaceutical companies. shits more complicated than people think. a lot of people thrive off the prohibition of marijuana.

but still, the fact is that this drug shouldn't be illegal in the first place.

The government wouldn't be touching your weed. It'd be just like buying a 30 rack of Budweiser. I just don't understand why you'd want something you do all the time to remain illegal. Does not compute.

so you would rather have a corporation grow your weed instead of a mom & pop operation(which is probably the majority of operations.. not your typical big bad drug dealer)?

and once again i'll ask

WHO THE FUCK IS LOCKED UP FOR RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA USE? name 1 person.. probation and parole violations dont count

and yes i'm a medical patient.

your forgetting the other group of people who voted no on 19.. the ones who realize 19 had the potential to do more damage than good economically.

You do realize that if weed were legalized, taxed and regulated, it could be grown my mom & pop operations and sold at stores? Much like small micro brews. And I know a few people who have gotten locked up (not long, but still a few months) for possession. Even if you don't know anyone personally, there are still thousands of people locked up for non-violent weed related criminal offense. It costs roughly $200,000 a year to keep one person in jail. Multiply that by a few thousand. Now, take all the money the government would make on taxing marijuana, as well as the combination of paying less money for less people in jail, and disperse that amongst various budgets across the nation.

He's using the BS California only locked up for possession when he says that. You can know people but if they don't live in california his argument still stands.

I wouldn't say a corporation would be touching or growing it, just those mom n pop's would be paying taxes on the income they receive similar to tobacco and alcohol.

Honestly, I find a blend of homegrown to be hit or miss like local breweries vs an imported ale. I hate Brooklyn Brewery, but I love beers like Landshark or Modelo.

What does happen eventually though, and it's perpetual through all taxable commodities, is that with the advancement paved by legalities, quality becomes far and few between. Mass quantity often means drop off in quality and/or a penetration of lower grade when you consider selling off overstock as a longtail business strategy.

What everyone, and I mean every industry, thrives on is the niche between production run and excessive demand. You meet excessive demand, you saturate markets, quality drops, and you begin the perils of dealing with over production.

I'm 50/50 on it, I'm happy visiting Amsterdam as I have that trip down to a weekend science. I have friends who live in BC so I have a place to crash and snowboard for that matter, and going west to the mountains in tahoe was easier to obtain then checking into the resort...actually the door man who unpacked our car was the one who delivered our luggage to our room with the herbs. I don't find any issue with the current taxation that prop19 offered, I did have issues with the campaigning of it as a leverage point for political advances.
