Long Beach is like L.A. Jr if you want to live in LA county but not the actual city. It's huge, very diverse in terms of people and neighborhoods and it's right between LA and OC so you're 30 minutes from everything. Long Beach State is also a great alternative to UCLA and USC if you want to be in LA but can't get into those.

No, not all of LB looks like a Snoop Dogg video. A guy 2 blocks from me has a ferrari. There are nice parts too.

If you can though, I'd go to UCLA and live in westwood. That was my dream sad

Livin in L.A is fucken expensive in general..Rent and housing rates average around $1000-$1500 a month, n that's if you want something decent, u roll over to somewhere cheaper like Pico or the Sgv and Sfv areas n you might find rent at $850-$900. Not even that though...it's affordable if you got a job. I dunno how your situation is but I hope it turns out well
