To people who use backpacks/bags but aren't in school

What exactly do you carry in them? I've considered using a backpack when I go out for the sake of convenience but i'm not sure if I carry enough stuff with me to necessitate one.

i carry what i want in mine. Its a whole lot easier then carrying shit around.

Carrying your phone an a lighter or whatever then yaaa thats a joke.

I use a backpack rarely out especially if im in the local area.

I hate stuff in my pockets man. I put my Ipod in there, my phone in there, a pen and a pad just incase....lol I keep one of those mini umbrellas just incase....(And it came in handy sometimes).... Depending on the weather you might want to carry a sweater along with you somedays. Right now in NY Spring time and sometimes in the Fall its hot during the day and chilly at night. Might want to carry a magazine or a book to read if you go on the train. A condom you just keep it in there and that's it its ready for use whenever you want. Laptop ! I mean it probably sounds real metro-sexual but lotion a hair brush if your that type of guy I keep a small lotion if you wash your hands in public bathrooms your hands are dry throughout the rest of the day unless you have some type of lotion It probably sounds girly but I don't like dry hands not a good look. If you get an everyday bag or bookbag trust me you'll fill it up with mad random shit idk what your into.

If you randomly go around a city for 12 hours a day. I see a purpose. But who really does that. At most people travel on transit to and from work/school in a day. So If your taking transit to school. I understand you gotta carry your laptop in something. But most people just like having an extra accessory. No one rocks jansport anymore. Gottta be supreme or whatever else the kids are into nowadays.

Only time I use a backpack is if I am going somewhere and I'm taking my laptop and components with me. Usually indicating im going overnight, and I have other stuff that I actually need in my backpack.(Clothes, spare toothbrush/hygienic stuff, money, movies)


Otherwise I have no need for backpacks.

I switch up with bags. I don't always do a book bag but like other ppl said sometimes I don't feel like carrying so much shit on one arm and sometimes all the stuff I want to bring for the day doesn't fit in a small bag. It also depends on how long I plan on being out, where I am going and if I may not come home for the night. When I do carry a book bag though usually I have a book or two, maybe a newspaper, planner, keys, some sort of clothing, and maybe a snack or two and something to drink.

i can see the point of carrying a backpack if you live in NY or some huge city where you're using public transportation but if you have a car, i think it's unnecessary. plus backpacks gives you bad posture lol

usually if im going to go and buy summin i will put the bags in my backpack so the handles wont snap in my hand

and if i have a hoody on and it gets hot i can put it in my backpack instead of carrying it in my hands

yeah the only time necessary to use a backpack is if you're going to be out the whole day with no vehicle. it's basically an equivalent of a woman's purse lol. i just put my camera, day planner, refreshments and sometimes laptop.

I'm in between purses sometimes; so I use a backpack when I'm wearing a more casual fit- or if I'm going on some sort of nature walk and having a giant bag on my shoulder isn't practical.

That could include a magnitude of items: a wallet, knife, lip gloss, gum, beer, etc.
