After you hit the Prnt Scrn button it gets copied, just like when you copy and paste words. Open up MS Paint and paste it.

Use Mirage for the clear dock. Then use GeekTool or Photoshop to make a semi-transparent black box. Gill Text dock icons.

Since iCal has to display the date in the icon itself, I think most people don't bother to change the icon since it entails a fair amount of work.
