Should colleges introduce audio textbooks??!

Pros
-More 'free' time for students (Many of us work, while in school...)
-More students will be prepared for class (Many students struggle balancing multiple classes and often skip reading ahead for a class to do homework for another class)
-Clearer understanding of the concepts
-higher grades/more educated students/higher percentage of educated society
-Less freshmen turnover (dropouts)

Cons
-Audio textbooks may be more expensive
-Students aren't reading (however the introduction of audio textbooks doesn't necessarily mean that EVERY class has to have an audio textbook)

i think textbooks should just have an audio CD with them. i pretty sure some do. Cause i like the hardcopy for diagrams and whatever, but i hate reading.

Purely audio would suck since you couldn't skim to review, lack of visual aids (charts, graphs, etc), and you'd have to deal with fastfowarding, rewinding, and it's a lot harder to set up the equipment necessary compared to just opening up a book and reading.

^we dont live in a world of cassettes anymore. if audio text books are made, they would obviously split it into sections where you can quickly fast foward to.

I think it'd be an interesting experiment. It would be nice if books came with an audio cd as an option.
