forreal tho, i like LA cus it's my home, but NY is a true, urban metropolis. LA is more spread out and for the most part is just hundreds of smaller communities wrapped together. except for parts of downtown, you don't get that urban-jungle feel to it which i really like. VERY FEW live in downtown los angles, it's deserted on the weekends which is very odd for a major city. they've already begun remodeling downtown and are starting to stack the area "upwards" as opposed to spreading it out amongst a wider surface area. they're trying to do this so that people actually work AND live within the city center, limiting traffic on the freeways. that's great news imo, i can't wait to see how it changes in the next decade.

SF is the closest thing that can mirror NY style living, but still has it's own cali vibe and culture to it and i really like that. it's a great place.

This thread is interesting is to see how much Cali folks feel the need to defend their state, and by no means am I trying to hate on ya'll cause I love Cali as much as the next folk. But the line does go "If you can make it in New York, you can make it anywhere."
