Plus we have two extremely dynamic cities within one state. SF and L.A . SF provides that fast urban lifestyle with blocks and blocks of density ...while L.A has that hollywood palm trees n excess vibe with all the movie stars.

yeah and new york has its upstate areas, long island, and then "the city"
each one of those is COMPLETELY different from one another. fuck even a walk or subway ride from soho to harlem will get you some wild diversity

Wow, bringing Japan into it? That's how you know when people need to build their hopes up for where they're from because they feel something is wrong with it and have to protect it.

Irony much??? look at your own posts dude

I love how NY people think there food is so immaculate. Do you know how big cali is? There are local mom and pop restaurants scattered everywhere that are just as good as any NY produced food.

There's a reason ppl say ny is the best place in the world and their's a reason everyone wants to be here. Defending ny is pointless because we all know the truth, we all know ny is superior to everything.

depends on the size and location. mtv makes everyone think nyc is only affordable on jay-z's salary. it's not. how much is your rent?

^ there is truth to that....I wouldn't move to NY for that exact reason. It just seems too expensive.
Funny thing about that is that CA and NY's cost of living is relatively around the same. I paid 386k for my 3bd 2.5bth 1600sqft condo in what I consider the heart of socal....besides the fact that I got this as a short sale, what would the equivalent be in the concrete jungle?

Cos. Both have their differences; it's just really up to preference.

Like Schao said, it really depends on the location.

From Forbes:

New York, for example, has the highest cost of living in the country, 120 points above the national average.
