na i dont think so. s curl makes curly hair straighter but still kind of keeps its texture.
i think the haircut works with straight hair tho:

I want one of them laser thingies you can get for your hairline -- I'm worried about being so dependant on my barber.

I know they can laser your beard so that it's forever in whatever shape you choose, so you only need to trim, and not shape/line it up. So it should work for hair. Then I'd only have to learn to get my hair on one level, which is a lot easier than the precision needed for a shape up.
