4) The Girls here can hold their booze, typically.
5) The pride of the city, all the communities, the Polish neighborhood, the Italian neighborhood, the Black neighborhood...they all come together on Sundays (Bills gamessss)

6) (Extra Credit) Most people you meet from Buffalo, wherever you are in the US, are chill as fuck.

2) It's diverse as hell
3) There's grimey ass hoods and people driving bentleys in the same city

We always make those lists. Almost every publication puts us in the top 5 along with Melbourne, Zurich and Vienna, but people that actually live always scratch their heads over it.

People, especially tourists, are blinded by the breathtaking scenery, what with the beaches and ocean and mountains, all right in the downtown core. But upon closer inspection you will find one of the worst homelessness problems in the developed world, open air drug and prostitution market, an entire downtown district that looks like a 3rd world country, gridlock traffic, out of control gang activity, rude, me first people and archaic liquor and live music by-laws.

I guess I'm just a bitter local because it really is stunningly beautiful, great kinda free-spirit culture, lots of parks, very tolerant and a good balance of all 4 seasons.

what they didnt tell you that vancouver has one of the highest crime rates in Canada.

my citys got the second highest in the country =(. im scurred.

Funny thing is that most people refer the Whole lowermainland as Vancouver which is actually 3-4 Diffrent cities really close to each other. and all those cities are in the top 30 for the murder rate

but its still a nice place to live lol.

1- there is no downtown here, so theres never traffic
2- there is only a square mile or two of houses so theres really no ghetto
3- we never lock our house or lock our cars bc theres no crime
4- from here to the other end of my town only takes about 10 minutes, anything past that and youre in the middle of nowhere
5- honestly cant think of one

1) The weather. I know this is obvious but this city would probably not exist without the glorious climate. Some people think it's boring, but I enjoy not having blizzards/hurricanes/tornadoes/monsoons.
2) The diversity. In a lot of American cities you have the Italian neighborhood, Jewish neighborhood, Irish neighborhood, ect. Los Angeles has a little of that, but most of the time it's people of all backgrounds living next to you, below you, or above you. It takes a certain level of mutual acceptance to pull this off.
3) The Lakers. The city breathes with this team; they win, and everyone is in a great mood; if they lose then there is a negative vibe in every workroom, classroom, and dinner table. Doesn't matter what race, sex or class you are, everyone can unite under a common interest/love.
4) The ladies. We have some of the best looking women in the country bar none. Not only do many of the native girls look good, but the droves of girls who migrate here from all across America. I appreciate the site of them daily.
5) The collective mentality. People from outside LA (even as close as the Bay) generally see LA as some smoggy cesspool full of Mexicans, ditzy blondes, and fake people; but we seem to know better. There is some kind of intangible mentality that we have that knows that is utter bullshit and we don't have to prove it. We don't care what you think of us, because if you flip the script it is probably a more desirable place than where your at. Not as cocky as I put it, but just as dismissive.
