At the moment I'm reading Writing Well by William Zinsser for school. I was surprised, thought the book would be boring as fuck, but it isn't bad at all. Also got Perks of Being a Wallflower from the library, haven't started it yet though.

perks of being a wallflower is great.

Word, just finished it. Was great, definitely worth reading. But the ending could have been better imo.

Looking for another book to check out right now. Anyone wanna recommend something they read recently?

i see and hear a lot about Dean Koontz. what kind of stuff does he write?

It's usually stuff that you would see on CSI or Law and Order. It's good stuff. A great writer.

I've been reading a book called Godel, Escher, Bach

It's hard to explain what it's about but basically he talks about meaning and how consciousness and thinking can be explained and then about artificial intelligence. It's a lot of philosophy stuff. Definitely interesting but also a hard read.

Awesome thread. I've learned a lot of shit from reading. Not only factual stuff and history but more importantly ways of thinking and looking at things. One of my favorite books of all time is "The Giver," by Lois Lowry

Short excerpt from Siddhartha. Really short read - makes you think a little.

Just checked out The Sirens of Titan, Animal Farm, and The Great Gatsby from the library. Finished Animal Farm in a few hours, one of the more interesting books I've read. Started reading The Sirens of Titan today. So far the beginning seems kind of dull.

I read RSS feeds and tech news mostly. Occasional newspaper, news online. I'd like to start reading, I can never get the time. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo seems to be all the rave right now.

Just took out Down and Out in Paris and London by George Orwell. Looks good so far, and Animal Farm was a good read for me.

Need some classics to read, suggestions pls.
