i think he has enough albums for this

i pick college dropout because i think every track could have been a single, and he was raw back then in '04

I'm going with Late Registration by a hair. Dropout is packed with great songs but this has Kanye's finest production. While CD is raw, LR sounds "bigger" and more polished. This is where his experiments were actually improvements. Skill-wise he is a producer first and rapper second, as a solo artist it doesn't get much better than this for him.

Graduation is pretty good, being too conceited holds it back though

808's is for the most part unlistenable and even laughable in some songs

Late Registration for me cause this album had Ye rapping like he had something to prove more than CD with it's well placed humor.

as much as i like CD, the people that are still in love with it instead of flirting with the others are the reason we will never get an album of that caliber from not Kanye but any other artist. it was what it was, but your lying to yourself if you didn't think that Ye's sophomore album quelled that voice that wondered if he could do it again.

I really dont see why 808's is laughable,
the homie had all this sorrow and shit and the best way he could think of to
release it was through music.

call him crazy, depressed
but you gotta respect that fact that he went through alot of bs
with the engagement and the loss of a mother.

2 cents$$$

Anyways, Late Registration was probably my favorite
i could seriously listen through the album
addiction is my shit

808's is laughable because it tries too hard. Does auto-tune really bring out emotions at their highest potential? Trying to sound flawless and invulnerable while attempting to release sorrow just makes him look insecure. Lyrically, the album speaks for itself. Read the lyrics for Love Lockdown and try not to find yourself embarrassed. I do like some songs though (Street Lights and Paranoid are quite dope).

I don't give Kanye much pity, although a harsh breakup and the loss of a parent can bring anyone down. However, complaining about shit like the press and hating the attention while being the most popular artist in the world is amusing to say the least. He thinks it's him against the world, 5 years after his debut.

"but for dat Benz I get Cl love, so I switch my girls around like 3L-dub"

kanyes shit was cold like december back then lol, my personal fave would prolly be college dropout, I also think 808s was a good album too, although it is not as wordy as his previous ones, the production was on point, and he really got his emotion and message across with one liners.
