Sorry guys, I like a lot of different types of "hardcore", from Gravity-sounding stuff (Antioch Arrow, Mohinder, Heroin) to modern hardcore (Modern Life Is War, Go It Alone, This Is Hell) to thrash-based stuff (Charles Bronson, No Comment, Iron Lung, and more recently Ceremony and Trash Talk), but I fucking hate NYHC. It's the blandest, least original, most self-important strain of the entire genre. If there's a "tough guy" band out there that isn't boring mid-paced semi-metal crap, I'm all ears.

Whatever man, shit ain't that serious. I think NYHC is boring but I don't fault anyone for liking the stuff. It's just not for me. I like a bunch of the bands Bloodyminded listed, though.

This is def something I agree with and always have. I never understood people getting heated over being hit and I never understood the "unspoken rule" I am so used to.
I thought you said no dancing I guess I misread but videos like you posted are what I had in my head as a ny show. NY bands just play a totaly dif breed of hardcore, all the old school shit and new heads keeping it alive is so much better than the new stuff being pumped out -- where every song is basically filler, breakdown, over.
The only times I understand no one getting hurt at a show is at like GCF or BANE
