I went to the show yesterday night in Seattle and it was ridiculous. Ive been to Rock the Bells and seen legends like Wu performe but this was seriously better.
Lupe opened by emerging from backstage wearing the red fragment low top chucks, red jeans, a red leather hoodie, and red kafia. He had his mic stand on his shoulder walking in looking like a syth and slammed it on stage starting the music. He performed most of The Cool and kick push and daydreaming from Food and Liquor. He brought out Bishop G for little weapon, Santos for fighter and superstar, and Nikki Jean. The arena was only 75% full during his performance and the crowed was being completely gay and not giving enough energy despite him absolutely killing it. Only like 50% of the audience was on their feet. He told everyone to say "im from a city in the North West best city in the whole wide wide world say" and it was basically 25,000 people muttering. Overall he gave a sick performance and the crowed was just being stupid.
N.E.R.D. was next and about 85% of the audience was there and gave them a lot more energy. They started off playing their new stuff including that one song where Pharrell tells people to go from side to side and then start going crazy. People in the audience werent feeling it but when they busted rockstar and lapdance people went crazy and it was the turning point of the concert. But when all was going well Pharrell swallowed some smoke from the smoke machine and it killed his voice. He went on for two more songs one of which was Everybody Nose, then they left. He came back on stage during the intermission to apologize for using profanity around young kids since its not 18+. Overall their performance was good but short.
Rihanna was next. I sat down the entire time. Don't wanna talk about it. She looked bomb as hell though.
They took forever to set up Kanye's stage and people were chanting lets go Kanye and we even did the wave across the entire stadium. This was without a doubt the craziest performance ever. It told the story of Kanye and his space ship jane getting lost in outerspace. He performed hella songs ranging from through the wire and all falls down to homecoming and stronger. He performed Get em High and i swear people lost their fucking minds. When he performed Good Life he repeated the line "and now my grandmama aint the only girl callin me baby" like 50 times (not exaggerating) and people sang it every single time. Cant tell me nothing was insane and indescribable. He played the tribute version of hey mama as well as this other really old song from the 80s i think cant remember its name right now but it got people even more hyped. He also had robot women come on stage and the mother fucker was just going crazy and losing his mind in general. All of the songs flowed in a pattern that matched up with the story, ending with homecoming and touch the sky. The stage was a screen and it lifted up and down around set up plains of grass.
