i hate this song so much, i just think it's so sappy and corny. I'm not a big fan of the radio but i was a truck driver over the summer and this song was on all the time, it was #1 on the billboard charts for quite a while too, surprised you just heard it recently.

I liked it only the first time I heard it.

Have you listened to their album? It is ridiculous. They're probably a one-hit wonder band.
