geez, this is difficult....I'd say either Outkast or Eric B and Rakim. Lots of choices though....Gang Starr, Pete Rock and CL, Pharaohe and Prince Po, etc.

thank god someone said this, i was starting to get worried.

outkast, eric b/rakim, pete rock/cl smooth would also be high on my list.

I liked Blackstar...didnt love them. Besides it was one album, I like both of those artist better seperately.

Seriously I understood the excitement behind the group but 1 album and its on peoples all time greatest list? The album was good not great imo.

For me, it's got to be OutKast. They were just the perfect duo, both are great emcees with different styles that mesh so well together. I know other duos match up well against them but they just had something else that seperated them from the rest, and this is coming from a native New Yorker.

I like Little Brother too, but yesterday I was listening to them and realized. Wow just about every song theyve ever made is about them complaining about the state of hip hop or not being more popular then they are. Its complaint rap...kinda whiney...and they're not the only ones. Theres a whole lot of complaint rap MCs. they should have a new division..."Oh you listen to that underground shit? Pshh ***** u betta get on this complaint rap."

Just about every underground artist has complained once or twice about how wack the mainstream shit is. It gets old after awhile.

I understand that...

But thats basicaly ALL LB does...when you REALLY listen to it...its like Jesus Christ we get it.
