Let's see, here's what I've been listening to as of late:

1. The Sheepdogs... This rock band from Saskatchewan, Canada won a contest and got onto the cover of Rolling Stone magazine not too long ago, then they opened up for Kings of Leon on their Canadian tour dates. Was lucky to get 1 of 20 remaining tickets for their sold out show here in Montreal a few days ago! Their music makes you feel like you've been transplanted back into the late 1960s
www.TheSheepdogs.com
one of my favorite songs by them is called Learn & Burn off their latest full length

2. Charles Bradley... if you don't know about this guy, you should. he is in his 60s but has only recently started his musical career. he is bringing real soul music back, along with others like Raphael Saadiq, Aloe Blac, Mayer Hawthorne... his life story is incredible, and I saw him perform at Osheaga this past summer. what a powerful voice:

3. Ain't No Love... I posted this in a thread of its own, but look for this quartet to make some waves in the industry. They're representing Montreal/Toronto in Canada with a fresh mix of hiphop and dubstep-ish beats. They had a recent show review by Arjan Timmermans, this years official blogger for The Grammy's, and he called their genre "Renegade Pop"... Their album is available at http://aintnolove.bandcamp.com, here's a video to a single off it:
