Road rap is deadout. Let's be honest now.

Around 07/08 times it was interesting, now it's just tedious.

I stopped listening to grime time ago tbh. There was a time where that was the primary thing I listened to, from like 05 to around 09 or so. Sad how dead it's become.

I can't post anything that isn't almost 10 years old. This is my favourite tape of all time though.

who's the best?
At grime or road rap?

It's all subjective but Dizzee Rascal around Boy in Da Corner days is considered one of the best grime artists, Wiley as well, and Kano for his flow is considered one of the best.

Road rap is poor, so I don't care for its artists. Back in the day Giggs was greazy, that's about it. Nines is supposed to be sick but ionno

Best of all time? Titch or Durrty, hands down. Too bad Titch had to fuck up and end up in prison.

It's not as simple as saying best of all time though. Grime is diverse, some people's flows are better than others by they might lack in actually having good bars.

Alot of grime is about the hype so artists like Titch are good in that regard, but for actual lyrics and content Dizzee was miles ahead of Titch and miles ahead of most grime artists.

Titch isn't the best all round.

Devlin would merc Dizzie in a minute. That doesn't mean Dev comes anywhere near Titch or Durrty in the grand scheme of grime. Dizzee wasn't all that. Durrty's 'Gimme Dat' from the Run the Road comp alone puts anything on Boy in da Corner to shame. Dizzee caught OD feelings, whereas Titch would just keep spitting or throw hands.

Fuck man, I'd even say that if it came down to it, Shystie would merc Dizzee Rasclot in a clash.

So you were talking about the best MC at clashing? Lol be specific, you need to specify what you're comparing. End of the day no one cares if Shystie or Titch could merk Dizzee in a clash because neither has produced anything as good as BITC.

you have all forgot ghetto and dot rotten. in my opinion titch was the tupac of grime but didn't mean he was the best, my choice on the best was devlin

but no one can forget shimmer, one of the best but left because of his religion

I rate Devz but his flow has never been as good as other MCs. Has solid albums though, Art of Rolling was one of my favourites

Diamond in the Dirt was way better than Boy in da Corner in my opinion. If you wanna judge it on awards/sales, give it to Dizzee, but he was just marketed properly, that's all. I bumped a lot of Dizzee way back when, but then I started getting into tapes and sets and found so many other artists that were better. Dizzee didn't get as repetitive as say JME, but wasn't number one. Stop Dat goes, but it's nothing lyrically.

Back on topic though. Grimestep.

Fair enough man, it's all subjective afterall. And yeah something like Stop Dat isn't that great lyrically, but something like Sittin in the Corner is, or Do it.

To be honest grime is a big genre, almost the whole of London was doing it at point so yeah there's loads of other artists. Speaking of JME, I've never been his biggest fan but you've reminded me that this thread needs more Prez T.

Has one of the best flows in grime

I'm guessing grimestep is some fusion of grime and dubstep? I can't stand dubstep, can't lie

Prez t is straight from Birmingham and Birmingham is relevant at the moment because invasion, livewire and stay fresh are smashing the grime scene not even mentioning our rap scene
