Is Big Sean fucking up like he did with the last album:

formula seems similar:

- Release an acclaimed mixtape (last time was FF3, this time was Detroit)
- Release a single that's decently popular (last time was My Last, this time Guap)
- Wait WAY too long and let your buzz die down, and then by the time the album releases people have already stopped giving a shit...

I feel like Big Sean would have been best off releasing in may, or at least releasing on June 25th with Wale. The longer he waits...the more it seems like his shit is gonna get overshadowed by Drake, and no one is gonna give a fuck about his album.

Just a thought, but I think Big Sean's promotion schedule is all fucked up, he would have sold probably 50K more of Finally Famous if he had released it closer to his FF3 buzz.

This dude has pretty much disappeared this summer

I personally was a fan of Finally Famous, not so much of Detroit and don't get me started with the song he did with Fall Out Boy. But yeah, 2011 was his prime, now it's 2013, everybody about ASAP, Kendrick, Danny Brown and nobody be on TISA anymore. And with Yeezus and Mac Miller's new album, see how it goes.

HA, might go the same route as Kid Cudi and Common, I don't know I feel like GOOD Music is stacked with artists that fit Kanye's old days, College Dropout and Late Registration, but now he's getting all artsy and darker and artists just don't fit anymore. Like Common and Kid Cudi don't fit the new look of GOOD, nor do Mos Def, Mr. Hudson, John Legend etc.

He should have kept Clique.

I guess Yeezus is going down Jay's route. He's letting his label die.

What do you guys think will be Kanye's next style?

Would it be a return to his old days? If so, it makes a lot of sense to keep on John Legend, Common, Q-Tip, etc.

If you're expecting another CD or LR, forget about it because Kanye hasn't even given us another Graduation. I think his sound will keep evolving and that's good. I enjoyed Yeezus just like I enjoyed MBDTF, 808s, and Graduation.

FF3 is a truly classic mixtape but nothing since than has been as good. Detroit and Guap sounded awesome and Guap re-started a trend of using steel drums in new hiphop beats. If his album is anywhere between FF3 and Detroit, it could be AOTY.

Not the biggest Sean fan he's got a lot song a like but either way his position is definitely cemented in the game. If cats like J Cole and Wale can go up against Yeezy and Jay and still do similar numbers I doubt Sean will have a problem in Q3 with the likes of Drake 2 Chainz and Rick Ross. I wouldn't be surprised if he was taking a backseat so Pusha T can have his shine this summer expect big numbers from him too.

It's not even that, it seems like Sean just isn't hungry anymore. Peep his mixtapes where he would go out of his mind to kill any beat. Since he got put into the bigger light, he's just been chillin. I feel like once an artist hits G.O.O.D music, they kinda fall off since they don't stay on the grind. Only on who's hungry is Pusha. Big is a ghost, Cudi still made dope music but was still in the background, and everyone else? man....

The artists on the label have to build their own buzz. Look at Cole, he's grinding and is finally realized he needed to step it up himself cause Hov wouldn't hold his hand.

I couldn't agree more. Sean can't wait for Ye to do shit for him. He gotta make plays himself.
