listening now
i'm pretty over odd future.  i'd be mad excited for the next frank album, but honestly i think tyler should stick to producing.  the rest of the crew I have no interest in.

On the 4th track.  this is undeniably an Odd Future album.

edit:  not sure why the downvotes.  it's an observation not a judgement.  it has that MF DOOM feel production wise and the goofy lyrics.  it's your typical indie rap, it's a good thing.  definitely will be listening again.  for now, i'm gonna listen to the new Oneohotrix Point Never.

The album is not what I expected it to be at all. Which is actually good. Amazing. There were some corny tracks but I can tell this nigga was FOCUSED when he made this album. I can appreciate that. A lot.

domo and vince had solid verses.
Franks verse on Sunday was a highlight for me tbh.
Guild was the worse song.

changed from Doom. I've learned to take HB not so seriously.

I used to be a big fan of OF when they  first came out. A lot of us were. Then a lot of lame ass niggas started taking it too far and made all of their fans look bad. So people stopped admitting they liked them. Then the music fell off with OF Tape Vol. 2, that lame ass MellowHype video with the snakes and coffins and shit, Tyler got bored of rap pretty quick. It was really a fall off year for them last year.

After blowing up so fast all that makes sense. I can see that they are starting to level out now. Hodgy isn't trying hard as shit anymore, and is actually making music that decent. Tyler made a smooth album, Domo is proving to be one of the best rappers in OF right behind Earl. And my nigga Earl... he just brought a classic/album in a way no one expected him to. And that was chill too.

So at the end of the day, the people like you and LaserDis who still feel it necessary to criticize anyone who can appreciate good music just because OF has a history of being surrounded by try hard ass niggas means that you niggas are stuck in the past right with all that try-hard energy that you despise. When in essence you're trying just as hard to make a dumb ass point that no one wants to hear.

If you don't like it, just move on. What the fuck are you complaining about?

Lol, c'mon man. Look man, I understand that these OF niggas are a bunch of trolls and they kind of degrade the what rap is supposed to be about. But behind all that, I can see some of their appreciation and passion (because I don't really focus on all of them) for art and music. They just chose to be free and live in the moment instead of calculating everything.

I think people such as yourself, and others in this thread, who have their own insecurities in reality. Chose to come into this forum and act belligerent and super critical to make up for some issues you're really having with yourself. And your natural reaction would be to deny that, and be defensive, or maybe continue to try and make a fool out of me to shift the (what you think is) negative attention off of yourself. But you have to really ask yourself, "Why do I care? Why do I come into a thread about something I don't like and criticize others for appreciating something that I don't understand?"

I think that if you don't see that, or the issue that it presents, then you may need to acknowledge the possibility that you, at some point in your life, have suppressed these emotions you have about your insecurities into your subconscious. Because it doesn't make sense for someone to have a happy life outside of the internet to come and entertain themselves by attempting to belittle others for no apparent reason.

Your argumentative nature tells me that you have some problems you are trying to fight. Which is counterproductive, because you will always have problems in life. You need to shift that focus on fighting them, onto figuring out how to deal with them. Then you will grow. Life is all about understanding, that's really the only thing that we can do.

So you need to understand, that we are all fam here. There is no need for all this negativity man. I like the got damn album. What the fuck does that have to do with you?

Pretty solid album to me. Not the best thing ever, but I like it. I don't like the tracks with Tyler on them tho, something about his flow I don't like, I cant put my finger on it. The Track with RZA is my favorite.

It is an opinion, what you are saying doesn't make any sense. If someone enjoys an album and rates it, let them. His '9' doesn't equal your '9'.

got baked and finally listened to it from front to back

its a pretty rad album. not classic to me, cause there were definitely some holes in the track list that made the walk feel a bit out of "place", but theres definitely some other tracks that make up for some lag. aka theres some blocks of songs and arrangements here that go really well together and some that may not fit as well, but as you can see, making a perfectly transitioning track list is really hard for artists. but Im straying off point

I liked it more than I thought I would, but its not like I like 4/5 of the tracks

he did good

It's alright. I'll give it like a 6.5/7 out of 10. The album is kinda boring though. Earl isn't that dynamic of a rapper as thought he was. It's like he needs direction from tyler cause all subjects he rapped about throughout the album were basically the same. He also had too many features. For your debut album most of the songs should be solely you. And it doesn't help that Domo I think had the best verse on the album on the song Knight.

actually EARL should count as his first album, I would pay for a physical copy no doubt.
And Domo's verse on Knight was hardly the best... Centurion? Uncle Al? Hive?

Less features next time around, did a second listen.. had to jump ahead on a few tracks. It's still hardest shit out rap(album) wise.

Don't badmind me.
