if you repeat lines and stall to think of another rhyme or verse then it's freestylin'. it's only natural, people just can't freestyle new material for 5 min straight unless they already wrote it somewhere.

I don't know why kids nowadays expect off the domes to be the wildest shit ever. Like why don't you go on the radio and spit off the top and see how smooth and nice your rhymes are. This is nice though I thoroughly support the Pro Era camp.

I love off the dome freestyles dont get it twisted. I love the smoothness of third grade level rhymes just for the fact that theyre doin it for fun. its fun its like a guitar solo with your vocabulary. I love that shit with a passion

but freestyling when it was first brought up was just a free verse that composed of lines that didnt have too much to do with each other or the song context. just a bragadocious verse. but now that that is a normal verse in hip hop all the time, the bar has been raised and its how well can the flavor of your words combine spontaneously.
