So many QUALITY albums have dropped this year....aside from the obvious GKMC....albums like:

Action Bronson-Rare Chandeliers
Roc Marci-Reloaded
Murs/9th Wonder
Buckshot/9th Wonder
Wu Block
Sean Price-Mic Tyson

its been a pretty solid year....it seems like quality over quantity is becoming the new ethos....what so you guys think...am I crazy?

Word. Plus Joey Bada$$, The Underachievers, and Chance The Rapper. Imo its one of the best years for hip hop period and its only getting better. We're definitely in a time of revival and expansion. I'd even say its been better than any year in the past 12-13 years.

I havent heard that Chance the Rapper yet....been hearing lots about him though....I'll have to check it out...but on the flipside this has been THE WORSE YEAR FOR COMMERCIAL RAP!!

True true. I see it as a sign of it and its power dying out though. Plus more and more people at a faster rate than ever before are realizing how pointless and boring it really is instead of being blinded by hype or wealth. Next year I feel like is going to be the takeover of what we've been calling "real hip hop", especially when you have dudes like Kendrick at the top right now, and theres so many cats, like the 3 I mentioned, that are going to rise inevitably, and take it to an even higher level. Watch this shit though. Some of the most soulful hip hop ive ever heard word to god
