Now, me personally, I'm a firm believer in Malcolm Gladwells 10,000 hours theory. Put enough time in and success comes out.

So for the next 60 days i'll be taking on the challenge of doing 5 beats a day.
Any beat makers are welcome to join in. I'll try and post the standout beats i get done here, and ALL the others to my soundcloud.

shit, that sounds terrible for me. My beats get way too .....I just turn into a perfectionist. the most I can do is prolly 2 a day, cause I just have too many ideas floating around. and im always busy and shit. but this sounds way too interesting, I might not pass up. not sure

Do it dude. It's like painting. No one makes a great work of art after sitting around not making art. Idk about 10,000 hours or whatever, but you've got a much better chance of making 1 good beat after making 35.

if you wanna make average beats to share with your friends then ya just make em when its convenient. if you're committed to that shit and you wanna make it in the buisiness then yes it takes that kind of grind. most great beatmakers say thats what it takes, locking yourself in your room or studio and just grinding for days on end, lose track of time/the outside world and just grind(hard to do if you have school/a job tho:/). read about the making of beautiful dark twisted fantasy, all kanye did the whole time was make beats/rap, take naps, and occasionally play basketball at the local ymca lol. 3 beats a day is a good goal but dont get to hung up on that number, sometimes it takes hours to perfect a beat, sometimes it takes 30 minutes to come up with something good(see young chop interview) point is you have to put your heart and soul in the shit.

5 beats a day IS a little extreme. Ima keep it up for as long as i can and then drop it down to like 2 or 3.

Now I just make like 1 really good beat per week. My perfectionist ways won't let me bounce from beat to beat like that anymore

same here, this is like my first time knockin out beats in under a day. So its definately a drop in quality, but im sure it'll pick up sometime into the 60 days
