Kendrick Lamar - Good Kid, M.A.A.D City (Review)
Kendrick's sophomore project was obviously a success, critically.. But for what reason?
Strong production coupled with (usually) meaningful lyrics as well as a strong concept will always somewhat grab the attention of the masses. I thought the story legitimately made the album, but the songs as standalone pieces of work were just good, above average sometimes. The sample for Poetic Justice could've been SO much better, and the Drake feature was kind of cliche. On first listen, this is a strong album, replay value wise, i see it in constant rotation in my phone for a good couple of months then ill just start to play my favorites (Bitch dont kill my vibe, compton)
Tldr; Decent/Good album, Story made it much better than it would have been. 8/10
