Ziyaad Luceō is a Toronto-based alternative R&B and neo-soul artist. He is apart of the up and coming indie label/group, Outlier Entertainment which is home to rapper David Arcane and singer Jai Martian.
Luceō released a new single (“voicemails.”) last week. This instrumental was produced by Sacramento’s producer, Whoarei who gained large amount of popularity after producing Kendrick Lamar’s “u” off his critically acclaimed album “To Pimp a Butterfly”. This is Ziyaad’s first release since his debut project called “The Tranquility EPish” which was widely enjoyed for its experimental jazz and neo-soul instrumentals, deep lyricism and smooth. Yet, “voicemails.” takes a different approach. It is borderline R&B with a neo-soul twist. With smooth vocals and a sporadic instrumental, Luceō discussing his hidden emotions that leaves the listener with the feeling of being in a voicemail message. It seems like Ziyaad is still holding onto the “tranquil” sound which he flourished in his first project, but this song finds him singing more and relying on the instrumental less.
Ziyaad does not release a lot of singles over a short amount of time and is very mysterious when it comes to his presence on and off social media but potentially this single is hinting that there is more to come from the young Toronto R&B and his band of Outliers.Listen to his first project, The Tranquility EPish here:https://soundcloud.com/ziyaadluceomusic/the-tranquility-epish-full-albumDOWNLOAD HERE: http://www.datpiff.com/Ziyaad-Luceo-The-Tranquility-Ep-ish-mixtape.704937.htmlFOLLOW HIM AND THE OUTLIERS:https://soundcloud.com/ziyaadluceomusichttps://soundcloud.com/davidarcanemusichttps://soundcloud.com/jaynurse
