Does anyone use garageband. If so how do you go about and use the piano roll to automatically correct your high hats and drum patterns. I have been making my drum patterns manually for the past year and still haven't found a way to use the piano properly. Can someone help me out teach me how to use piano roll to make drum patterns dynamic.

U talking about timing? Click that icon in the bottom left, not the plus sign but the one to the right of it. Check the box that says quantize note timing & pick which works for you

yea thats the right place, use the bar that says auto-align in the bottom left. There you can align the notes to 8th's, 16th's, 32'nds, etc.

yea auto align is the same shit b. always set it to max. start at 1/8th then get more precise if you have more notes crammed in

Does the metronome really help out if so how? I mean does it match the tempo to the aligned notes? It just confuses me when its on. Is it truly needed?

The metronome helps your timing, cause if you royally fuck up, auto align won't know what the fuck to do

It's at 120 bpm by default

Invest in Logic Pro, it comes with a quantize feature that automagically corrects all your midi data to a 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 beat. What ever you desire.

And the auto aline/enhance timing really helped out lol i cant believe ive been making beats manually for over a year. This shit really helps i just made my first beat with the help of it and i can really tell the difference!! thanks niggies!!

yeah im saving up for that now is the 499 is a crazy price but i guess you get what you pay for.

Haha when I started producing a few years back I made a few without the auto align. I was mind blown when I finally figured out how to quantize everything. Also, I downloaded the trapaholics sound pack the other day, really good for hip hop considering the stock Gband drum kits suck ass.

I downloaded a .zip file containing a bunch of .wav's, like tons of hi hat's, snares, chants, etc. Then assigned them to one of the stupid preset sound effects keyboards like "comedy noises" or some shit, then I saved that instrument

Nononono. Change the note timing, try 1/16

If your using 1/16 notes, setting the aligner to 1/8 will cut them out. try setting it to 1/16

i have a few downloaded kits but i mostly use the defaults but i modify them. cant find any quality kits to download im afraid of viruses.
