i'm looking to bring some new life into my music collection in a couple different genres that I don't know much about. if you could contribute some artists/sounds that you think i would like, i'd appreciate if you'd share.

anyways- below I have what i'm looking for, and some of my fav tracks that I have already.

1. looking for some more conscious rap shit on beats that are smooth to kick it to. i really like gang starr, but after bumping his albums all the time i need some more fresh shit.

2. looking for some chilled out indie shit. not too rockish because i'm not the biggest fan. but i do like the guitar/synth sound of the xx.

3. for my jazz lovers, i'm looking to expand...something fresh. i love bossa nova/samba flavors the most, but i'm open to anything. one of my favs that stays on repeat is esperanza spalding.

4. finally, for my trance heads out there. when i was in malaysia i really got into the genre. unfortunately i didn't pick up on too many artists and searching for it is tough. i saw above & beyond live tho and shit was reaaal nice. they're all i really listen to in trance department, maybe some of you can help.

i appreciate the help, and i'll give a listen to any suggestions.

peace cool

To combine 1 + 3 i'd suggest A Tribe Called Quest. Old school hip hop group that uses jazz for many of their songs. People dont know that when rap first started they used jazz as the instrumentals to make lines for and what not lol
