Durrty is too raw.

No females even come close to Shy and No Lay.

Used to bump this ALL the time in high school.

Sov used to come correct.

Kano and Vybz Kartel, it just works.

This will have to do. Bruize Boy has a song called Grimey, hands down my favourite grime track of all time, I got in on a comp time ago.

Grab the Run the Road comps, Grime Theft Autos, shit, can't remember any other good comp series in time. Only grime I have left is some Crazy T, Durrty, Kano and Dizzee, lost tonnes to reformats.

July 23, 2012 @ 01:01:00
Oh damn, this is the comp with Grimey on it.

This comp is a far better representation of grime than Run the Road in my opinion. This is gritty, bump and sweat shit. This music is the reason dubstep exists, dub's to be OD chill to help you wind down from some grime/garage/dnb bumpngriiin.

Excuse 'The Streets', dude was HUGE at the time this was released, they tended to throw him on everything to reach more people.

July 23, 2012 @ 01:16:23
thanks for the links 99 def gonna look into it, n finally someone whose aware of what dub is all about. chill dub over that nonsense brostep shit

edit: shiiiieeeet just took in that midnight club used to have nuff grime in the soundtracks

Yeah, around '05-'08 there was a tonne of grime and UK hip-hop in videogames. I remember hearing Sway and Wiley and some others in the breakroom when people were playing PSPs back then, and I knew they weren't UK heads or anything. EA was the main company that had it I think, I remember sports games and NFS having UK tunes. Dizzee dropped M+E and that's when the hype seemed to die off.

Waubstep caught on huge because all the kids had ODed on electro and fidget and it was natural progression, and then, then came the dark days of brostep like Skrillex. I could deal with some Rusko, even liked 16Bit and Excision, but once it ALL started to sound like that, I just couldn't take the deviation that dubstep had taken.

July 23, 2012 @ 04:48:03
yea i listen to it..there was this group on tim westwood freestyling or spittin verses from their songs that i really mess with. I forgot their names and it was an old youtube vid so im going to have to search for it again

Grime is dead.

Can't argue this, especially not with someone from the UK. Still, some good tunes out there from the past 10 or so years.

Devlin's new? Dev track I posted is over 1/2 a decade old. New material perhaps, but he's not new by any means.

Grime, like true dubstep is dead. It's not that it doesn't exist, it's that it's not as prevalent as it once was. Better than it ever was is a strong statement. I'll admit, I gave up on hunting new stuff years ago, but from what I've heard, it's not gotten 'better'. I'm in Canada doe, it's like it's pushed hard over here in the first place.

July 26, 2012 @ 09:52:51
Looool @ that list, that's mainly UK rappers, and how can man make a thread for grime and post Taio Cruz? Baffling.

Grime might well be 'dead', but I'm sure people were saying the same thing in 07 when BBK were smashing it up. imo Grime died when Giggs came around and people went on a UK trap music hype.

Some Ghetto/Ghetts
