chief keef is not bad because he speaks for those inner city niggas. its a certain voice they all pay attention to its weird hood nigga shit lol. but the thing is there's no balance in music no more. i remember when i was little, i could watch Rocafella and Mosdef video back to back. now its all the same.

this sums it up

They're the ones that literally control the frequencies and what not. Most of the time, the artist's pov of how the track should go sucks baby shit. Please elaborate

same reason we all go crazy over actors and not over writers

you said you were a rapper not a beat producer, if you aint getting no good shit out and the best part about the songs are your beats, then you garbage. try switching it up when you tell people what you are

i'm not talking about me personally, i'm talking about music in general. people DON'T listen to lyrics. the beat always comes first, and then the lyrics.

it's the reason songs like this blow up.

LMAOOOO the fuck is this shit.

really need to change my name to "hey im a big fan"

because the whole point of a rapper is to be in the spotlight. The music business (or even just hip-hop) provides many people with jobs, but it's all in service of promoting whatever rapper is there at the moment because no matter how much people like the beat the main thing people take away from music is the personality and that is solely provided by the MC.

Even if the rhymes aren't the main draw to someone's music its their overall star power that is, and most producers are such because they're just naturally behind the scenes kinda dudes

All I do is smoke weed, blow lines, and listen to MF DOOM. And rap. http://www.facebook.com/SpacemanNYC

The people behind the scenes never get the credit they deserve, but they do get paid better.

This

At the end they get less fame, but more fortune

would you rather have all the fame and be broke or no fame and be caked up

most rappers are broke and all they have is fame, and most most of then time it's not good fame

Most producers don't want the fame money talks that's why you dee more rappers self producing less people to pay. U wind up getting less than a dollar per album u sell so as a rapper its tuff
