yeah this type of hiphop is not appealing...im from seattle and the only ppl that listen to him are hypebeasts that claim to be "true hiphop fans".

I like that song. It's not just a song about loving sneakers, though. It's a lot deeper than that. It's about how consumerism affects us, especially in terms of mentality. I'm sure many people here can relate to that. Macklemore himself stated that he initially wanted to write a song boasting about the sneakers he has, but he started thinking of a much deeper concept.

the seattle hip hop heads, few that there are, don't fuck with macklemore. theyre all bitter that seattle is on his dick when he's "not real." personally, I don't think he's a very good rapper, but I'd rather Seattle has him than no one. People in Seattle need to fuck with hip hop more in general so we can actually get some fuckin shows
