Nobody in this thread has said that mainstream = real hip hop or not. in fact, my point was that it has nothing to do with whether it's mainstream or not. Ross is garbage. You're attacking "underground" hip hop, as well, which doesn't even make sense because it's such a broad array of sounds and styles. The problem with mainstream hip hop is the fact that when one trend starts, whether its shit or whether its gold, it will be bit and replayed for the next 9-12 months. There's no originality. And where the fuck did you get the idea that people think they're "gangsta" cause they listen to underground. You came off sounding like an angry, insecure, confused 13 year old Drake fan.
BTW, Biggie and 2pac are the most overrated musicians of all time. Com, Mos and even Nas were/are mainstream too. PE, KRS, even Rakim to an extent too. If you attempt putting up lists with hip hop artists, at least put dope hip hop artists on the list.
