I personally think that both of these albums are the two most overrated albums of all time... all time!

how the fuck you gonna come in here and say illmatic is over rated? all you have to do is listen to it front to back to know its a hiphop masterpiece. The lyricism and musical production is 100% on point. Every track fits together perfectly.

If you two noobies don't think Illmatic is overrated, then you nikkas must be 13.

I was bumping Illmatic in the 90s, you nikkas just started bumping Illmatic in '09 after DL'ing it from a torrent site after purchasing some supreme socks <----- I added that at the last minute on some Jay-Z-off-the-head-rhyme.

and to the only member that contributed to this interesting thread, I have listened to Sgt. Peppers so many times that I even forced myself to try and like it only just so I can fit in with my fellow hipsters on HB but I just couldn't.

i think the beatles' white album is far more overrated than sgt. peppers. I dont think sgt. peppers is the best album of all time. i'd say, illmatic is definatelly a classic from a technical standpoint, but it can be pretty boring at times, while sgt. peppers is a lot more enjoyable than illmatic, i'd say overall they're about equal, but neither are the greatest of all time.

But i mean, we can't really call either album overrated because in 1967 the only music that had come close to touching the ground that was laid by sgt peppers was pet sounds by the beach boys. I dont agree with OP, sry sir.. Although Sgt. Peppers isnt my fav Beatles album, L.S.D. is cool
I can see why its held so high up though, i mean the cover alone is genius.
Abbey Road > Sgt. Peppers IMO

And Illmatic is a classic, but i honestly enjoy Reasonable Doubt more :O

It should of , my only gripe with Rubber soul is that it's too long, should of been like 12 tracks with Nowhere man being the last track. Some of the fillers are bad imo
