The MMLP was basically my introduction to music. Before I only heard shit my family played but when I heard The Real Slim Shady it was sooo fucking catchy and my best friend got his mom to buy the album and we played that bitch day and night front to back. It was the first album i had heard and the first one I learned EVERY SINGLE WORD. After that he bought the SSLP and the rest is history. Honestly if that hadn't happened I probably wouldn't even be into Rap because the shit I heard I didn't like. The day I heard that album changed a ♥♥♥♥♥s life.

yo I know what you mean, em kinda really brought me into rap. I was mad late on this shit doe

if im not mistaken the MMLP is the highest selling rap album of all time. shit went Diamond.

Speakerboxx/ The Love Below is actually the highest selling rap album. MMLP is second.

But yeah Eminem was huge in the early 2000's. Ppl in this thread bringing up tyler and shit, but tyler wasn't even a fraction as controversial as eminem was. Em had suburban white kids, white girls, and hood ♥♥♥♥♥s loving his shit. Em was the fuckin shit.

I saw the quote about Outkast going diamond, shit I didn't realize it had sold THAT well haha. According to his discography on wiki, Eminem had 2 back to back diamond sellers, doubt any new artists will eclipse that anytime soon.

Speakerboxxx/Love Below & Get Rich or Die Tryin' also went diamond, but I agree no RAP album will sell that well again most likely or at least that fast.

Those albums were also before the mp3 revolution.

I'm a year younger than you, but before MMLP I listened to like Limp Bizkit, Smashmouth and gay shit like that as a result of having more white/asian friends than anything.

I was referring to his waiting in front of a store for a cd. I wouldn't have even thought to do anything like that when I was 13. Or I would have just walked in at like 3pm and got one.

this is why he was so hyped, if he was black he would have sold half. I didn't have to go to school to know that.
