The Weeknd said he was inspired by this which sounds more like him than Drake does:

and only his production is similar of 40's (if you didnt know, it was Doc McKinney and Illangelo who produced), he doesnt sing like Drake because Drake can't exactly sing as well as The Weeknd can. But don't get me wrong, I fuck heavy with Drake's R&B. OVO is playing a big part in The Weeknd's career. I'm not sure if October's Very Own is a label or something (see the back of Thank Me Later -- is that just a shout out or more

but The Weeknd are going to follow a similar route to Drake in a sense. OVO will back The Weeknd 100% of the way.
