Dame pretty much put him back on the map imo, DD172 etc all those videos. Dame team made him the poster boy for their indy label.

i just saw a wu-tang doc the other day. backstory goes...

Dame signed ODB to Rocafella (by force, intimidation, trickery - who knows) like immediately after he was released from prison .

anyways apparently ODB was having a real hard time in jail. close friends say that he was actually a pretty mild-mannered guy but they sent him to a maximum security prison with killers, rapists, etc. i heard he was getting his ass beat by the correctional officers and put in solitary confinement for no reason. he eventually had to literally set himself on fire so he could plead insanity and get transferred to a mental institution.

anways, he was finally released and after going through all of that, you would think he'd need some time to put his life together and get reintegrated into society. but he was immediately put to work by Dame and co. and had all of this hype and pressure put on him. i can see why he'd go back to drugs so quickly.

i also partially blame his family (his mother) who looked like she was putting so much pressure on ODB right after he was released.

You can't blame Dame at all really. It's his fault. There was a bidding war on Odb and Dame won. He was the one that said yes to the deal. Rza advised him not to take any deals but he didn't listen at the time.

Hopefully he continues with the whole dd172 movement, I was just reading on the dd172 site, they had a little article alongside with Mckenzie Eddy's mixtape 2 days ago, which features Spitta by the way...that she will be featured in the Muscle car chronicles movie/album scheduled for early March.
