I really gained respect and a likeness for Macklemore after listening to My Oh My
A lot of people can attest to this, growing up in Washington during the 90's through early 2000's almost everyone played Baseball, along with that we watched or listened to the Mariners games religiously and Dave Niehaus's voice screaming "My oh my!" after a big play was and is something that can bring tears to anyone who was or is a true Mariners fan. For me that short phrase makes me reflect on my earlier childhood when my Brother and I would watch the games together and we wouldn't ever miss a game, they really molded his and I's friendship and that's something that I couldn't be more thankful for. No other song has ever gotten me more emotional and it just goes to prove how good of an artist Macklemore really is and how true he is the NW lifestyle.

^My Oh My is a great song, really like the message that goes with it. I think my favorite from The Heist would be Gold or White Walls.

i dunno if hes groundbreaking as his album was on the same shit ten years ago. but, respect to dude but i dont really like his music. i like his dress style tho. and also props to putting some spotlight on the homeland.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and their album The Heist have really made history! there have been independent efforts like mac millers blue slide park that reached #1, but Mac miller still was being backed by an indie label. now Macklemore and Ryan Lewis literally did everything on there own, no backing by the marketing machine (major labels). they just continued to put out good music and the world responded. Their story is truly inspiring to any independent artist of any genre who is trying to make a name for themselves. dedication and good music, and having tunes that are "FUCKING AWESOME"

People need to chill out. "Thrift Shop" isn't the only song he has. If anything, I'm pretty sure that song was created mostly for comedy in the first place. He has some deep and insightful songs. At least his lyrics are better than lyrics from Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, etc. I'd rather listen to Macklemore's music since it's a lot more uplifting.

"Ten Thousand Hours" is pretty good.
