I've noticed that in this forum, Macklemore, (the Seattle bred rapper) isn't getting any attention on hypebeast. Hypebeasts are supposed to be the people on top of the latest and freshest things in art culture. Seemingly, Macklemore is just that. Macklemore is a groundbreaking musician who incorporates all genres of music. Anyway, he is a great rapper who deserves to be heard. So check out his music.

Yeah you could call it spoken word. Does it really matter if he spit bars or not? We don't all judge by how many bars he spits, this isn't 106 and Park haha. Good hip hop is good hip hop.

Macklemore's cool, but sorry, seattle is not running hip-hop. And to be honest, Blue Scholars are kinda wack, I used to like them alot when I was younger but Geo isn't a very good mc, and Saabzi's production has gotten kinda stale.

Idk, i don't like how uniform the sound and lyrical content is for a lot of artists coming out of seattle. I like macklemore alot but the majority of the stuff I hear from seattle ends up sounding pretty stale and rehashed.

Not dissing you either man. But I do think it's funny how a lot of the people who love a cities hip hop scene are usually not from that city. I'm from Canada and right now I'm into Seattle's stuff. But I notice the same thing with Toronto. Toronto hip hop is great. Yet, a lot of people in Toronto don't even know who these artists are. So it's ironic how a lot of people diss their cities just by being apathetic. They're not even looking within their own cities for music.
