May 01, 2010 @ 08:44
so much hate smh

Drake raps for that everyday *****. Songs about Bitches, wanting to be successful, ect...is shit I can relate too. I mean i like gangster and stoner rap but thats not what im about. Until these other dudes like big sean other other hyped artists can make a song like closer, fear, or successful ill be rooting for drake hahaha.

It does kinda frustrate me that music of such awful quality blows up while we are likely to never see a great single dropped by J. Cole or Jay Elec make anything more than a buzz.

j.cole has a great single!?!? lol since when. The only single I heard was Who That and that is pretty fuckin far from great.

One of the comments says that the song in that vid was sped up so it won't be detected for copyright infringement, and that's the cause for the high pitch-ness.
May 02, 2010 @ 15:45
oh, good looks, shoulda checked it better

Who Dat > any single drake has ever dropped period.
May 02, 2010 @ 18:28
sorry but that's extremely debatable
May 02, 2010 @ 20:32
To be fair a couple of drake singles had better production and a better chorus then who dat but unlike a lotta you I actually value the lyrical content. The original point I was trying to make was that its sad that garbage like Find Your Love is far more likely to blow up then a much better song with less push behind it.
May 02, 2010 @ 20:39
If you think "Who Dat" is great. You might wanna hop off coles nuts.
May 02, 2010 @ 21:08
why are we still discussing who dat?
May 03, 2010 @ 02:22
cause you brought it up? lmao

And then I made it clear that my point wasn't really about who dat. lmao

I think we all remember this review of TML that dropped a few months ago that said this...
http://www.beyoncefan.com/2010/03/12/drake-sends-beyonce-handwritten-letter-for-use-of-kanye-west-beat/

2) There is a Kanye West–produced track on the album that comes with a story. The track was made by Kanye for Beyonce, but Drake really wanted it so he wrote her a handwritten letter asking if he could use it. She read it and thought it was sweet and e–mailed him to give her permission. It’s a great track.

Now that I think about it, this song does sound like some sh!t a female would sing, you mean to tell me Drake begged and pleaded with Beyonce FOR THIS?!? THIS?!?

seems like drake really doesn't write his own shit^

Im kind of feeling this. I'd like to see a heavy rap record with a couple r&b joints on it too. A Night Off from So Far Gone is my jam.

I don't understand ppl when they say this shit is hot.. not trying to be the typical anti-against popular opinion hypebeast type of dude, but be honest people. this shit is trash. I don't care if thank me later turns out to be the biggest album of the year, you fell off in my book on so many levels

id say realistically, about 10-20% of those who here the song enjoy it purely for the music, and then other 80% wanna jump on the trendy bandwagon. For those who like this trash - i dont care how much you like the song you can't deny that its a wannabe 808s attempt on a throwaway 808s beat.

Hating on drake IS the bandwagon.

Anyways....this song is alright..typical radio shit. Im hoping for something different on the album.

can i say i legitimately like this song because i really liked 808s & Heartbreak, and not because it's drake.

Fair enough. I'll admit more people posting on here may like this long because their into the 808s sound but when this blows up on the radio (assuming it will) I would expect most people to jump on this just to be on the bandwagon.... Idk i might wanna adjust my previous statement.

why are you asking for permission?

i like this track more so than i did when it first released. at first i didn't like the 808s feel to it and i still don't like some of those aspects and the hey hey hey part but the rest is good to me. btw i think if kanye would have made this track, it wouldn't have been as good. it'd be more popular on the radio and with everyone but it wouldn't sound as good (the singing)
