thank you

QFT. you really gotta be about that cali lifestyle to fully appreciate doms music. definitely not the first place to go if you triyng to hear some lyrical shit..

i'm from the bay where it's quite different but i agree. you really just need to understand where he's coming from (literally), to understand his music.
June 29, 2011 @ 01:56:11
That "you gotta be from Cali to appreciate this" comment is bullshit. I've been up on Dom since 25th Hour and liked all his past releases but this one does really seem kinda weak to me... maybe I gotta give it a couple more listens but yea, definitely ranks the lowest at the moment.

I'm feeling the upbeat, warm summer vibe of this tape as opposed to the colder sound of From Westside 1. But I guess that's the appeal of Dom to me, I'm not listening to his music for lyrics. I'm listening to feel good. But I suppose some like his "colder" shit. CNOAT is a classic though haha.

New album is crack to a crack addictsmokeyface
June 29, 2011 @ 13:50:37
Dom's Prayer

When I Come Around
She Aint In Love
Platinum Chanel
Ice Cream Truck
New Jeeps

basically the whole album

im not saying you have to be a local to appreciate it, but it helps. when i listen to his music i can really understand it from being in the area as appose to some who wouldnt get the idea cuz they dont really experience the lifestyle. from his past tapes i already knew a lotta people wouldnt like his music that arent locals cuz he bases his music around that LA chillen vibe which is a lot different to some people

There are more places on earth where there is sunny, beautiful women, and good food bro^ --- But LA got a unique feel, no doubt.. Back to the album,

Grind'n, She Ain't In Love, Platinum Chanel and New Jeepssmokeyface

O.P.M should be every spoiled kids anthem lol..It's dope though

This is one of the best releases of 2011 in my opinion. Every song on here is a banger and this is the type of shit I listen in the summer. You can't hate on this smooth shit.
June 29, 2011 @ 18:54:45
alot smoother than i expected but it's perfect for summer riding. Dom is killing it right now. He's blowing up majorly in 2012
June 29, 2011 @ 23:13:30
imo from westside with love 1 > this, but this is still a good album. you can tell his style in this is definitely different from his older stuff
June 29, 2011 @ 23:20:14
Really like Grindn. Wish Mr. Champagne was a full track.

Westside I was better cuz it was more consistent and the aesthetic was more unified but whatever. The more classic LA sound is very nice.

Is it weird that Dom's first project, 25th hour is still my favorite? I have all of his tapes and the new album but I still fuck with his early shit the most. Anyways I'm glad du's finally getting the shine he deserves. Seems like the past couple of months everyone's been name dropping him and following his music... he has all of L.A. backing him up now!
