Dom Kennedy

FutureStreet/DrugSounds is one of my favorite mixtapes no doubt. I get the mediocre label though, he's released a lot of "alright" material. His music is great for just summer time vibin' though.

Future Street might be on my top 10. It came out like almost 3 years ago. I feel like I just started listening to it.

Summertime. Intro almost threw me off though. Maybe it'll grow on me. Rest of the tape is dope so far.

i hate shit like this.. if you feel this way the more important question is why r u in a dom kennedy thread?
Jun 28, 2011 @ 13:42
i copped it, listening to it now

Implying im not a fan of Dom. I have all his tapes and even seen him live. In my opinion, every song sounds eerily similar to each other. Doesnt mean Im not a fan, it just means his music can get redundant to me. I just find it hilarious that you seem so offended

yes it makes a difference

whole album represents an LA cali summer
Jun 28, 2011 @ 17:10
he average but his swag, and the way his songs jam take up for that

this. he doesnt have those punchlines or creative hooks to pull you in if thats what your looking for.. but he brings that LA, chillen, summer, good time feel that rappers cant even get close to in any track. westsideII reminds me of snoops doggystyle and that old school gfunk which rappers cant bring back. its all in his style and vibe that gets most people. i feel like youd have to be a local to really get the full feel of what dom is tryna deliver

That "you gotta be from Cali to appreciate this" comment is bullshit. I've been up on Dom since 25th Hour and liked all his past releases but this one does really seem kinda weak to me... maybe I gotta give it a couple more listens but yea, definitely ranks the lowest at the moment.
