good idea but what common volume should the tracks be mixed down to?hmm good question i always mix my tracks down to about -5 to -6 dB. what do you do?

i was taught to master tracks at -10 rms with the soundscope plugin on pro-tools. it's a fairly loud volume but not so squashed by compression to where you lose all dynamic range

yeah -10 rms is the loudest i would go...most popular songs we hear today are mastered even louder because consumers tend to think the louder a song is, the better the mix but it's actually the opposite..that's what the volume knob is for. Music in the 70's were mastered at -12 rms and we all know how great those sound. But jeeah..-10 is good haha. please excuse my audio engineer rambling.

gonna try and start bringing some change that this thread needs and start making a conscious effort to leave some type of feedback for any of you fellow beat heads looking for it. If you don't handle constructive criticism well then please don't ask for feedback. i'm only giving my honest opinion on whatever i'm hearing. so....
@stefannn1029 - i dig your drum sounds & the drum patterns are on point but the chops sounding too basic. most the beats i heard sound like u made one pattern with your sample and laid the drums over that same loop throughout the entire beat. try adding some change ups to the chops every once in a while or layering them with new sounds so it doesn't sound as repetitive.
@robotjns - nice work. i dig your style and sound because it doesn't really remind me of another particular producer out there..keep doing what you do. "anything" and "regular" is my shit.
