I was wondering when you guys sample, how much of the track do you decide is appropriate to sample? Do you just hear one segment and think yeah i want that?
I don't tend to do the 'long sample' style although many of my favorite hiphop songs are like that; Kanye West "We major" is a good example. I like when a beat sounds chopped up ;]
Remember when there was actual discussion about production techniques, etc. in this thread?

I made a collaborative thread for it but no one saw how great it was. I was getting them the programs and VSTs they wanted without torrents. Giving them how I learned (through sites and reading).
