Yeah, I always think that when I sample stuff. I find one or two loops I like but can't raise it to that next level? Do you reckon it could use more drum variation, or does it need some more chops etc too?

^ needs more variety in the drums. it sounds like its got a deep bassy kick, a light kick & a snare. so thats just 3 things. i'd suggest some hihats, & different little percussion sounds spread out through the drum patterns.

Don't try to fit too many chops into a song. What you have now is already more than enough, although you drowned it in reverb so I can't hear the drums correctly. Add some more instruments.
