The Axiom models are, IMO, the best M-Audio controller models. You got pads, you got keys, and the perfect amount of transport controls. I would not purchase an MPC1000 if you plan on getting a controller. Invest your money on a good DAW, good studio monitors, and a good audio interface.

Not quite. The pads are decent on the Axiom but not all that useful for any actual drum programming. If you gotta have some pads get an Akai MPD model.

No. Newer models accept either .wav or .snd files. MPC2000 classic and prior accept only .snd

thats whats up yea i thought about the 1000 but i dont like how the pads feel compared to a 2000xl or a 2500. ill prolly get a 2000xl first turntable mad vinyl pre amp moniters and im not leaving my room either lol and upgrade on the 2500 when i get my cake up
