hey man do your thing, 9th still uses FL

he's moved on to the mpc but his beats have gotten worse so that tells you how good FL is sometimes

Too true,

By the way, does anyone know any contests taking place any time soon?

Anyone here uses Reason? I'm learning it now, gotta say it's different than FL far as looks and I think an enhanced GUI is helping me out better. If anyone has seen any good Reason tutorial vids or write ups please PM, on that thirst for knowledge all whilst experimenting cool

i've been using an mpc for a few years now and its always been a solid piece of equipment. i really like how its self-sustaining, that i don't need to use a computer or anything to put together sequences and make a beat.

my point is, i've been seeing a lot people using the maschine claiming it can do things the mpc can't, it runs its owns software, its an overall better instrument yadayada. is this really something worth investing time to check out? is just a good live performance type of equipment?

I don't know enough about Maschine, but I can say that I'm in the process of transitioning to an MPC for the reasons you just stated...

it's funny you say that because I had an MPC 1000 for a while and it was actually really useful in terms of songwriting and whatnot, but now that I'm in the market for new production equipment I was considering getting another MPC or Maschine. And I feel like if anything I'll just cop another MPC because while the Maschine may streamline the whole process of working on an MPC into ready to use software, it definitely doesn't have that live component that MPC has. I was just at an open-mic a few days ago thinking about how easy it would be to just hook an MPC up to an amp and use it for live shows as opposed to just playing MP3s for beats

I own a maschine and so far I love it. I used to use a 2000 and my brother's 1000 and I loved them both. (still do)
For the price though you really can't go wrong. It's definitely worth checking out in my opinion.
