Just started getting into production. Getting some equipment soon.
Would you guys recommend getting an LPK 25 and a LPD8 or just an Axiom 25?

Any help is appreciated. Shifting through about 50 pages in this thread is real insightful. Much talent in here as well.

I believe you can make gems with FL. It really depends on the person making the beats, not the equipment.

Real talk. I'm not a massive fan but 9th Wonder uses FL Studio, and dat nikka Lex Luger.

word. I've been using FL studio with an m-audio axiom 25 but i heard that the maschine is very user friendly when it comes to chopping up samples on the fly and cuts down a lot of time it would normally take to do on other programs or hardware. If thats true, it's is something that would definitely help me for what I like to do.

Hope it works out for you, I was gonna buy it at first since I originally started making music on Ableton but since I won Reason 5 off Loopmasters I have just learned/make music with that. And Maschine def is good with sample chopping on fly can't say it is better than FL as I have FL but never use it.

The levels are off. Sounds like you EQ'd nothing not to be mean. Remember not everything needs EQ but that cymbal def needs it as it's high end just overpowers the rest of your drums. Also you might want your snares to have more snap. The rest is up to you. I say don't scrap it for now. Take what advice others give you and save it as a "rainy day" project.

Does anyone know if you can actually mix and eq your beats on the Native Instruments Maschine? If so, how well? I'm seriously inquiring on getting one but thats the only thing holding me back. Been using FL studio for a while and iv'e gotten pretty good at mixing the quality of the beats. I like using alot of compression and filtering so i'm just wondering if I can accomplish having as good of sound on the maschine as I do on FL studio. Feel free to click the link on my signature to hear some of my music for a better understanding. Thanks in advance!

Very nice track. You did the ambient vocals in the back right?

Almost positive that it comes with a computer program along with the the hardware. I'm not a producer though.smile

Used Live since 2005, great program def if you do a lot of midi work and loop sampling. Though drums could be a little better hip hop wise, mastering suites will need an upgrade of your choice, other than that you'll have fun though I recently switched to Reason 5 back in January. If you ask me both are a great team I just prefer self containing my programs. If you have any questions on it you could message me I know it fluently

I'm starting to get into producing music and right now I'm using FL but I see there's a lot of hate towards it, and just people saying it isn't that good. I'm thinking of trying Reason or Ableton, what do you guys recommend for a beginner?
