I think you need to figure out what you need to learn first. I think the most valuable thing you'll need to learn to use in reason is the nnxt sampler. The dr rex loop player is pretty simple and straight forward, but there's a lot to the nnxt that you need to sit down and figure out.
Learning to use the synths is also important. I mostly use Thor, that thing is awesome.
